Site News: VideoBB update
The good news for those that like VideoBB, I am going to continue to use it.
The bad news for those that dislike VideoBB, I am going to continue to use it.
I have listened to all the feedback provided over the last few weeks and although VideoBB clearly has it’s issues and many dislike the format it is no more problematic and gets no more complaints than zShare, which is the format it’s going to replace. Given that it’s is so much easier, faster and less frustrating for me personally than zShare is it makes sense for me to use it.
That’s one important thing I wanted to clear up – VideoBB will only be replacing zShare – I always have and always will try to provide at least two formats for each show and generally manage to do so for at least 90% of the episodes posted, so if you love Megavideo it doesn’t affect you as Megavideo versions will still be posted as well, if you love Dailymotion it doesn’t affect you as Dailymotion versions will still be posted as well, if you love Youtube it doesn’t affect you as Youtube versions will still be posted as well.
The only difference is that where I would have previously posted a zShare version, I will now post a VideoBB version.
A few suggestions for skipping the time limit restrictions on VideoBB are already appearing and I am hopeful that as the format becomes more popular more and more will come out.
You can try unplugging your modem/router/cable and plugging it back in again once you get the time limit message.
You can try hitting play then pause and allowing the whole episode to download, then unplugging your modem/router/cable and watching it offline.
