Site News: Down Time
So if you are a regular visitor here at RealityTVFan.org you have probably noticed the site has been down several times over the last few days – unfortunately I can’t promise it won’t be down again either.
The basic gist without boring you is that my webhost keep pulling the plug claiming I am causing high server load and trying to make me purchase a dedicated server. A dedicated server costs twice the amount I pay per year currently for one month – ouch.
The problem is this doesn’t make sense to me as I can’t see why there would suddenly be such a huge issue – traffic levels are the same as they have been for several months now and I have not added any new features or the like in the last few days that would cause such a dramatic change.
I am a bit at a loss at what to do. If I believed the site had outgrown shared hosting and I needed to pay for a dedicated server I would find a way to do it, but I am not willing or able to throw away $150 a month when I don’t believe it’s necessary.
** And now for the technical bit **
If there are any people out there that can offer advice it would be appreciated. Do you have any suggestions on how I can monitor my own CPU usage (cpanel) or suggest tools and the like to help me determine what is causing the high load even though traffic has not increased. I run wordpress on the site and already have wp-super-cache installed. Also if any one can suggest a hosting company that offers more affordable VPN/Dedicated servers it’d be much appreciated.

So, if you notice some things looking strange don’t panic it’s just me tweaking things trying to work out what’s going on, and if you notice us down again also don’t panic – I am not sure what the solution is yet, but RealityTVFan.org isn’t going any where
