A Timely Gift

I used to have a pretty big collection of automatic watches when I was a teenager – everything from gorgeous expensive designer watches purchased for me as gifts to cheap pink plastic ones I paid just pennies for at a local market.

As it is now I don’t wear a watch at all and have not done so for several years, I don’t know many other people who wear them either. There seems to be much less of a need for traditional wrist watches these days as everyone walks around with various electronic devices and mobile phones that all display the time on them. Plus for me personally I am always listening to the radio which gives time updates constantly.

I would like to start wearing one again though as much like with any jewellery they are a great way to accessorise and each piece can have a special meaning. I remember how much I loved one of the Invicta Watches my parents bought for me when I got my GCSE results and how proud it made me feel every time I looked at it.

I am sure that watches will come back into fashion with the younger generation at some point and I personally can’t wait

Have you been spotted in Atlantis?

I was rewatching an old season of The Amazing Race a few weeks ago and got to one of my all time most frustrating episodes – it's the one in season 15 where Mika and Canaan are eliminated after she refuses to go down the leap of faith waterslide. Surely if you go on The Amazing Race you know you are going to be faced with both water and heights at some point?

It made me look up where exactly that waterslide is in Dubai though as I have seen it on TV before and thought it looked awesome, I love that it goes through a shark tank at the bottom. Turns out that the slide is in the large Auquapark in the Atlantis Hotel that is at the centre of the glorious man-made Palm Island, The Palm is a luxury hotel with an oceanic theme and it sounds and looks absolutely amazing.

As well as one of the world's biggest Auquaparks for fun and thrills there is also a huge range of marine wildlife to be seen and even interacted with, gorgeous themed rooms and stunning white sandy beaches for relaxing, restaurants run by world renowned chefs to dine in, salons and treatment rooms to pamper yourself in and lovely little boutiques and shops to splash the cash in. There is something for everyone at The Palm and due to it's unique theme even if you are a seasoned traveller you will find yourself in awe

Do you stream movies online?

Don’t you just love the Internet and the fact that you can get anything you like on it, and usually for free if you know the places to look. I recently started streaming movies online myself which is something I had never really considered before despite running a streaming TV site myself!

I have rewatched some old classics that I used to love as a young ‘un like Drop Dead Fred and The Never Ending Story. I plan to watch a few that I have been told for years are awesome and ‘must watch’ films such as Withnail and I and The Shawshank Redemption and I am definitely looking forward to some upcoming movies like The Hangover 2 and Thor!

With the speed new movies are added these days and the amazing DivX HD quality in addition to the super fast broadband most of us seem to have it’s hard to see why any one bothers with paying a small fortune for the cinema like we have to here in the UK.

I am even considering stocking up on the popcorn and finally working my way through all seven (eight?) Harry Potter films which I have yet to see.

Ready for some Paranormal Activity?

So if you are into being scared out of your wits in the name of entertainment you will surely know that Paranormal Activity 2 is due out in the cinemas very soon. The 2nd movie follows a similar plot to the 1st – this time a family who have been experiencing a spate of ‘break ins’ set up security cameras around their home and the footage we see from them reveals there’s something a lot more scary going on there.

Me? I can’t even watch the trailer without cowering in my chair and half covering my eyes – I’m very easy to scare. Take a look at the trailer for yourself below and see if you spot something super creepy right at the end.

Did you see it? When the nursery is shown a baby appears in the mirror but isn’t actually present in the nursery *shudder*

Best Place to Watch Futurama Episodes Online

I was pleasantly surprised last week when I saw new Futurama episodes start popping up online – I had no idea it was making a return after being cancelled a few years ago and it was always a favourite of mine, any thing by Matt Groening gets the thumbs up from me.

I watched the first two episodes of the new season myself a few days ago and am pleased to see that it’s still on form – the first episode sees a return of the whole gang as they are ‘reborn’ after crashing to earth – all except Leela who is in an irreversible coma. Fry creates a robot version of her and The Professor implants her memories into it – the real Leela then wakes up and forces Fry to shoot robot Leela, but as he does he ends up getting shot himself and it turns out he too was a robot!
Sounds confusing, right? But it was a really clever and funny episode and in the end the whole gang is back and happy

I might Watch Futurama episodes from seasons passed tucked up in my bed for the rest of the night, I have a little heat exhaustion and could do with just relaxing and having a laugh
