One of the best things about the Internet is how it allows artists with all kinds of talent to get themselves and their creations out there.

Previously if you had an idea for a great movie it would generally stay as that, just a great idea, because without a massive budget and the backing of people from the film industry it simply wouldn’t be possible for most people to create and promote.

The Guitar Player Feature Film is a publicly funded movie about a talented homeless street performer who is given a second chance at life and is a great example of how any one can realise their visions thanks to the Internet in today’s modern world

Ready to meet Rango?

It always amazes me what some people come up with when thinking about the next big blockbuster, what sort of mind and imagination does someone need to have to come up with the idea of a chameleon with an identity crisis striving to be the hero he always wanted to be? Well that’s the premise of the new animated adventure starring non other than Johnny Depp and from the director of Pirates of the Caribbean. Watching DivX movies online

I was never much of a movie buff, until recently.
The idea of going to the cinema and paying a small fortune to do so never really appealed to me and I would only ever go on special occasions or when there was a film out I knew beyond doubt I would love – there would be films I quite liked the look of and I would tell myself I’d wait until it came out on DVD or to rent, but then never get round to it.

I recently started streaming movies online, something I had never really considered despite running a streaming TV site myself!

What impresses me about doing so is the quality of the videos available – years ago when I probably first attempted to watch a movie online they were all ‘cam’ copies where you’d get people walking in front of the screen or hear them coughing. Now they are all in super high definition DivX quality.

The advantage of being very late to jump on the movie watching bandwagon is that I have a lot of classic and widely loves movies to catch up on. In the last few months alone I have watched the first few Lord of the Rings. I have also seen some great movies that I would have never in a million years paid to go and see as they didn’t sound like my cup of tea – such as Kick Ass and Ghost Town. Next on my ‘to watch’ list are The Social Network and Avatar.

No Strings Attached

“No Strings Attached” is a new romantic comedy coming out in cinemas in a few days time in America and in February in the UK and Australia. The basic plot being a busy young couple agree to see each other just at night for some uncomplicated and no strings fun but can it stay that way without love getting in the way? The best part of the trailers for me is lots of Ashton Kutcher with his top off

Role Models

I just finished watching Role Models – the kids on that were so funny. Though total nightmares to deal with I am sure. If I ever got busted drunk driving I would definitely take the advice of the Santa Clarita Attorneys and do the community service rather than heading to jail for 30 days – but if I got faced with those kids I might change my mind about that pretty quickly.

It was strange to see the actress who plays Sue Silvester in Glee in Role Models also, I have never seen her in anything else – as she was being nice I kept thinking – hmm what’s she up to? And then remembered that she was just being nice because she was playing a nice character in this one!

Overall I quite enjoyed the film but it was nothing special or out of the ordinary, something to put on when you are feeling a little under the weather!
