The Biggest Loser UK – Returning in 2011

Good news Biggest Loser UK fans, not only will the show be returning on ITV in 2011 it will also be given a primetime slot. It will take on the American format of only airing once per week this time however. The show will run for 8 weeks and will again take on the couples format.

The Biggest Loser originally aired on Living for two series in 2005 and 2006, before moving to ITV daytime in 2009. Last year’s run was won by Kevin Sage, who lost 9 stone 6lbs.

Joint managing director Karen Smith from production company Shine TV said:

“Despite its cheeky title, The Biggest Loser is a hugely positive series which genuinely transforms people’s lives for the better.

“Last year’s winner Kevin has maintained his weight loss and has just completed the London Marathon while Jodie Prenger, who won a previous series, went on to appear as Nancy on the hit BBC Show I’d Do Anything when her weight loss gave her a new-found confidence.”

ITV’s director of factual, daytime and GMTV Alison Sharman said:

“This is a one of the great formats of recent years. It is a wonderfully entertaining watch, with powerful and inspirational stories at its heart. I am delighted that an ITV primetime audience will now be able to enjoy it.”

The series is currently looking for participants so if you would like to apply please visit www.biggestloseruk.com.

Site News – Updates

I just wanted to update you guys with what’s currently going on here at RealityTVFan.org and what will be soon to come. With the reality tv season practically over and no Big Brother UK or Aus to post this year you’ll probably be wondering what on earth you are going to watch for the next few months! Well fear not…

Currently being uploaded by me are The Biggest Loser UK 2009, the 3rd series of the UK version of this show that is currently airing every week day on ITV. When I first started uploading this show I warned you I didn’t think it would last very long, but now I know it will stay up thanks to a few conversations with someone from Shine TV. I am glad I decided to give it a try.

You can view that channel here.

I also recently started uploading the 2nd series of the show that aired in 2006, it followed the weekly format rather than daily one and I am uploading it at a slow and steady pace (next episode coming today :) ).

You can view that channel here.

I also recently started uploading The Fashion Show when the user I usually get it from was away on vacation, I had planned to just upload the episode(s) while they were away and then defer back to them, but have decided to just continue. It’s a Bravo show so there’s a good chance it won’t stay up, but fingers crossed.

You can view that channel here.

Finally at the moment I am posting I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here USA, it airs Mon – Thurs and is on for the next 3 weeks. However it is very difficult to get a hold of, I still don’t have episode 4 that aired on Thursday and it is also an NBC show so very likely to get pulled. Hopefully I can bring you the whole thing, but no promises.

You can view that channel here.

So now on to what’s to come — Big Brother Australia, that’s what! I plan to upload a series sort of in the place of BB UK, aka I will upload a show per day following the correct format of when it aired. I plan to start it in a few weeks time when I have my new computer (thanks for all the donations, please keep ‘em coming if you can :) ) but the question is — which series should I upload? I know that some series were half uploaded by other people, but honestly I lost track and regardless of what was already uploaded I would be doing the whole thing myself from scratch.

I currently have BB 3 & 4 sitting on my computer ready to go, and I have series 2 & 6 half downloaded. So please comment and let me know which one you’d most like to see please :)

In final news, please don’t think me rude if I don’t respond to ‘show request’ emails — I get so so many of them and it seems redundant to me to spend my time responding to them all with a “maybe”. All requests are noted, remembered and looked into, thanks!

EDIT: I forgot to add, that after the current series of Britain’s Next Top Model ends I will be posting the first 3 series on that channel :)

Site News – Channel Design & Biggest Loser UK 2

Good day all, I am back from my holiday and all caught up on site stuff, hurrah.

Just a few quick updates. First my youtube channels are now all designed exactly the same with just one difference, channels that are done with have orange headers like this one and channels that are active have blue headers like this one. This won’t ward off many of the questions from casual viewers I am sure, but should be a good indicator for regular RealityTVFan.org followers.

Orange = the show is ended and no more videos are being added.
Blue = the show is still running and you can expect more to come.

In other news, I finally got my sticky paws on the second series of The Biggest Loser UK! I have been trying to get it since before I even started this site over 2 years ago now so I am super happy. I will of course be uploading it for you and you can subscribe to the channel here in preparation. At this point I don’t know when I will upload it — I am deciding between getting it up really fast before Big Brother UK starts up again on June 5th or waiting until after the current series of The Biggest Loser UK finishes, your thoughts and opinions are welcomed.

Also, my poor computer is about ready for the scrap heap — I have been patching it up and reformatting it every few weeks for several months now, but it is not going to last much longer and cutting and uploading the videos is becoming more and more of a hassle. I can’t currently afford to get a new top notch one however so don’t be surprised if in the coming days I post one of those ‘Chip in’ widgets again to the sidebar so that you guys can help me out a little if you so wish :)

Finally, a little pimping — You guys should check out Action All Stars, you can get a FREE 30-Day PRO trial at Action AllStars.com™ and get access to exclusive MLB & NBA gear, new games and more!
. It’s a lot of fun and you can cancel the free trial at any time and feel satisfied in the knowledge you put a little commission money in my pocket.

The Biggest Loser Club

Having watched The Biggest Loser from the USA and Australia for many years now, I always felt left out when they’d be pimping the online biggest loser clubs and I knew I couldn’t join them — now that The Biggest Loser UK has returned, I don’t need to feel left out any more.

BiggestLoserClub.co.uk is the UK version that runs along side the show. You can join for as little as £7.95 per month and gain access to a wealth of information and resources that can help you with your own weight loss journey. You can follow the official Biggest Loser weight loss plan and get more insight into the diet and recipes the couples in the house are currently using. There’s a great community feel to the site and my personal favourite feature is that you can ‘buddy up’ with someone, so much like the contestants on the show you can be part of a weight loss team :)

So if you are from the UK go ahead and check it out!
