With Survivor Gabon wrapped up it’s time to sit back and wait for the next installment, titled Survivor: Tocantins — The Brazilian Highlands and set to air on February 12th 2009. Here’s the preview of the season that aired during the Gabon finale.

Site News: Current Youtube accounts 27/06/08

I have just updated the list of my youtube accounts on my about page, something that was long overdue. Be sure to take a look at it, RealityTVFan.org covers a lot of shows and there might be some here that you didn’t realise were on the site, or shows you might decide to give a go – I can recommend The Biggest Loser Australia to fans of Big Brother Australia, it’s done by the same people and is similar in many ways – it’s sort of like Big Brother for overweight people haha.

Survivor UK – More please RealityTVFan!

I have had several people contact me over the last few days to ask me if I will be posting more series of Survivor UK, the bad news is that there were no more series, it was axed after the second one due to ‘poor’ ratings.

The funny thing about that is that it was actually getting more viewers than Big Brother, which also premiered the same year – and look at Big Brother now, series 9 starting in about a months time. It’s something that has always perplexed Survivor UK fans somewhat, but I put Survivor not really being considered a success down to 2 things, 1. While it was getting slightly higher ratings that Big Brother, Big Brother only had to give away £70k as the prize…Survivor gave away a cool million so they probably expected a lot more bang for their buck and 2. British people like a nice guy, if any one on TV shows arrogance, expresses a desire to win, uses underhand tactics etc then we are baying for their blood – so a show like Survivor that encourages competitive and sneaky antics, was never going to go down too well.
