I love love love the intro to this season! I love the remix of Time after Time and just how it's all shot.

That said, Richard and Amber get to stay because they basically said they will aim for the bottom and basically just suck at this whole weight loss competition thing? Wow. Amber doesn't put in 100%, and her dad sits there and insults Jess to her face, and the other teams reward that? Wow, that's pathetic.

what is your favourite snack to eat while watching the chunkies go at it?

  3. He hasn't hit a thousand calories once? really? Is that how little they are eating there?

  4. I agree with you. It was disgusting and a low blow for an old guy, a father to through a young girl under the bus like that and to shove it in her face that she was there to be famous or whatever. Sick.. That girl struggled from day one and is on the right track. I am rooting for them to clobber the light blue team!

Yeah that seems odd…Dr. H in the American version says the calorie goals are targeted to each person

  6. Shannon said earlier in this season to the two he coached exclusively, that they are going to eat 1000 cals. It makes sense, to lose 5+ kg in a "week" (it often isn't 7 days), you have to drastically reduce anyone's calorie intake – even with the amount of exercise they are doing, this can only work with a tiny amount of cals.

That's also the reason why most former candidates gain so much weight back, because nobody eats just 1000 cals in normal life.

1000 is way too low for a guy of his size, even on an extreme diet – people need energy to perform basic functions nevermind to be able to workout daily. Drives me mad that the trainers are so hard on them when they moan and whine and want to give up – of course they do, they are trying to function on negative energy each day!!

  8. In my opinion 1000 is much too low but they are probably eating so much veg to compensate. As for the contestants gaining the weight back because no one eats 1000 cals in normal life, the 1000 cal is just for weight loss. But you are right having such a restricted diet you aren't really training yourself how to eat as a normal person.
