A retro gaming session

What sort of games were you in to when you first discovered gaming? For me the first games console I ever owned was the sega megadrive (showing my age here hey?) and I loved Alex Kidd – I look back at it now and realise how simple and basic it was but at the time it was the absolute height of cutting edge. I first really got in to gaming with the SNES – which I still own and play sometimes even now and my all time favourite console remains the N64, I guess I am a Nintendo fangirl as I have always preferred their consoles and games over others. Though I do love my XBOX 360 with Kinect for the fitness games and you can’t beat a bit of Sonic the Hedgehog.

I think that sonic adventure was probably the first game I ever properly fell in love with – rushing back from school so that I could get on it, falling out with my siblings when I had to share with them, feeling a massive sense of accomplishment when I got passed end of level bad guys and completed tasks. Good times.

You can play loads of old school sonic games at Sonic games 365 including Sonic Adventure and Sonic Boom which was another classic that I loved.

I think for old times sake this weekend I am going to set aside a few hours and have a really good old school gaming session. My other half is as interested in gaming as I am so I am sure he’ll oblige and join me – maybe I will go the whole hog and buy some of my favourite retro foods and drinks as well, I used to love a bag of cola cubes and a strawberry yazoo after school
