This was soooo disappointing! No elimination challenge? No cooking for your life? Boooooo! And I hate the announcer! Oh well, leave it to the americans to screw up a great show. I will still watch though.
Faruq really annoyed me in this episode. "What? What? What?", staying in a trance for the rest of the episode and doing funny faces is a little over-dramatic for me.
I think what Lisa was referring to, was in the Australian version the bottom three faced each other a separate elimination challenge. I agree, it sucks that dropped that part and I'm guessing the winners don't get the chance to compete against famous chefs for immunity either? If so, they really have gutted the show.
Where oh where do I begin…? Where did they find these morons? This is the top 14 of American cooks? Let me stop, because I am just so disappointed right now.
how could anyone attempt to be considered a "master" chef and have NO skills? it's a joke! this is a spoof of the actual masterchef, right? i cannot believe Gordon Ramsey put his name on this show and then allowed these people to pretend to be chefs, much less think they have any chance of becoming a masterchef! and then he's going to allow them to author a cook book? arghhhhhhhhh! they need to find better contestants. the viewers are expecting quality contestants and the contestants have not embraced the gravity of this competition!
Australian Masterchef was so much better! What was the deal with all the chicken and vegetables?? This is so boring so far!! (Though… I have to keep watching to see Gordon Ramsey )
Let me simply state for the record that I grew up in Mississippi (though not where Whitney did) and I doubt you could find 5 people who have never cooked pork. "We don't eat pork in Mississippi" Are you kidding me? Really? What a bunch of nonsense.
There are some good cooks on here. The weekly format really is messing up the show and the judeges just don't have much charisma. Did anyone else miss Matt's descriptive adjectives for the pantry time – languid, leisurely and such?

This show is modeled after Master Chef Australia and the eliminations do not occur every episode.

agreed. so far mc australia was way better. they whittle this down to cut throat cooking in no time. it's moving way too fast.

What's up with the contestants, everyone's so overconfident and I don't like the narrator or the judges either.
