Zookoda – Email marketing application

As you know, I have recently announced that you can now subscribe to the categories to receive email notification on new posts here at RealityTVFan.org, this was something that used to be a feature several months ago but got vetoed by my webhost – ever since then I have been looking for an alternative way to do it, or a different script.

Then, funnily enough on the very same day that I discovered the script I am using now I came across an email marketing application called Zookoda, which got me all excited – after reading about all the features, and the fact it’s my favourite sort of price, free, I had decided that if my webhost didn’t let me use the new script I finally had an alternative be happy to replace it with.

Zookoda - Email marketing application

Zookoda allows for you to send an email update of all your new posts for the time period you select, a day, week, month etc to everyone who subscribes. The emails come as a proper fancy schmancy newsletter that you design on the site, they are totally customisable so that you can have them match the look and feel of your site.

As well as that, one of my favourite aspects of Zookodas service is that as the administrator of the mailing list you have access to reports about your subscribers. The reports let you know what is going on with your list, how many people are signing up to it? how many are unsubscribing? how many aren’t getting the emails for some reason? With this information you can work on improving things and really mark your successes.

Oh yeah, and finally…Zookoda has made sure it is totally anti-spam compliant and covers having features such as ‘double opt-in’, which is a standard feature a lot of web hosts require. So you’ll have no issues like I did, with your webhost slapping your wrist over using something you shouldn’t.

It’s almost a shame I discovered the other script at the same time and I won’t personally be using Zookoda, but hopefully this post will be helpful to others searching for a solution as I was for a long time. Enjoy.

The second housemate teaser aired last night in Australia, and we are introduced to Dixie – a 21 year old aboriginal woman who says she can be a bit arrogant, and is ‘boy crazy’. Do we expect fireworks between Dixie and Terri? Probably.

We are also told that the next housemate teaser will air on Thursday night during The Biggest Loser episode, even more reason to look forward to TBL, like we need it!

Big Brother 8 Aus – Corey Worthington set to star!

Australia hasn’t seen the last of suburban hell raiser Corey Worthington and his trademark yellow sunglasses — the Victorian teenager is rumoured to be set to appear on this year’s series of Big Brother.

The 17-year-old, who gained worldwide notoriety after hosting a massive party at his parent’s house in Melbourne, is believed to have secured a spot as an intruder on the Channel Ten series, the Daily Telegraph reports.

“His fame and notoriety hasn’t escaped the executive producers of Big Brother … he would deliver the Ten demographic in droves,” a Channel Ten source said in January.

But former BB runner-up Tim Brunero told ninemsn Worthington would be like “a tissue in the rain” under Big Brother’s non-stop scrutiny.

“This is a guy who can’t even take his glasses off, so I think he’s going to last about 20 minutes under this sort of scrutiny,” he said.

“So far we know the first housemate is a Pauline Hanson-supporting 52-year-old … I think she’s going to make mincemeat of him.”

Brunero also claimed the show would move back to its social experiment roots after last year’s lacklustre episodes and ratings.

“I think it’s going to be back-to-basics, Big Brother the social experiment: one thing they’re bragging about is there aren’t going to be any promo models or boring people,” he said.

“It’s not going to be as much about beautiful people and who called who a moll. “The contestants will likely be from a wide spectrum of mindsets and lifestyles, not a boring homogeneous group.

“It may be making a transition from being a kids show to an adults show.”

Brunero will be part of an adult-focused BB panel show Big Mouth on Tuesdays with Tony Squires and Rebecca Wilson and will also commentate on the series at his website.
